A Street-cuts permit shall be issued uponthe provision of the required information, receipt by DOT of the required permit fees, payment of the required Performance Security, and correction of outstanding or unresolved deficiencies with existing permits. It is the contractor’s responsibility toschedule the work, and notify DOT of completion of the workwith sufficient time for the work to be inspected and approved prior to the expiration of the permit; and sufficient time constitutes notice to DOT a minimum of 48 hours prior to the expiration date of the permit. Notice to DOT of an Emergency Excavation shall be made bycalling the Street-cuts Section, at 410-396-2889, between the hours of 7 am and 4:30 pm Monday-Friday; calling the TMC, at 443-984-2189, 24 hours a day; or email to <u>streetcuts@baltimorecity.gov</u>, 24 hours a day. A Blanket Permit shall be issued to a utility provider or the Department of Public Works (“DPW”) for Emergency Excavations only.A Utility provider with a Blanket Permit shall complete a permit application within18 hours of beginning the emergency excavation, or the next business day. Emergency Excavations shall be inspected by DOT Street-cuts Section prior to backfilling of the excavation.The utility provider shall notify DOT Street-cuts Section that the excavation is ready for inspection. Notice shall be made as set forth in <cite data-path="14.03.01.05|C.">Regulation .05.C</cite>. A Street-cut permit fee shall be assessed in accordance with a fee schedule, established by the Director and approved by the Board of Estimates (“BOE”).Street-cut permit fees are in addition to the Temporary Use of the Right-of-Way Permit fee. Current Street-cut permit fees are posted on the DOT website at transportation.baltimore.gov/quick-forms. Additional fees may be assessed as provided in these regulations and allowed by law.
