§ 49-4 Duties.

assess and maintain an accurate demographic profile on HIV/AIDS incidence and prevalence rates;

design and develop a Strategic Plan for Baltimore, with input from key stakeholders in the community, and provide leadership to implement the Strategic Plan;

recommend appropriate legislation and other actions to control, treat, and prevent the further spread of HIV/AIDS in Baltimore;

provide policy guidance, recommendations, and consultation to the City Health Department and the City’s health community on the best prevention and treatment programs available to protect our citizens;

serve as advocates for program development and funding for programs most productive for Baltimore; and

keep the City Council and the Mayor informed of critical HIV/AIDS prevention strategies and programs.
