To the extent of its authority, the Mayor and City Council shall maintain the requisite level of funding of the Association as set forth in the <cite data-doc="City of Baltimore, Md., Charter" data-path="II|§40|(e)">Baltimore City Charter Article II, § 40(e)</cite> and may not reduce the existing funding provided by the City in the District due to the establishment of the District or the designation of the Association.
