§ 9-1 Definitions.

(a)In general.

In this subtitle, the following terms have the meanings indicated.

(c)Business.

“Business” means any place of business or commercial activity conducted by a person, whether sales, service, rental, professional, or otherwise.

(d)Department.

“Department” means the Department of Consumer Protection and Business Licensing.

(d-1)Director.

“Director” means the Director of Consumer Protection and Business Licensing.

(e)Impact area.

“Impact area” means the area:

(1)

within the same election precinct as that in which a business is located; and

(2)

if a different precinct, within the election precinct of the block face opposing the block face in which a business is located.

(g)Late-night operations license; license.

“Late-night operations license” or “license” means a license issued under this subtitle.
