## § 9-1 Definitions.

Balt., Md., Code art. 15, § 9-1 (2026)

(a) In this subtitle, the following terms have the meanings indicated.

(c) “Business” means any place of business or commercial activity conducted by a person, whether sales, service, rental, professional, or otherwise.

(d) “Department” means the Department of Consumer Protection and Business Licensing.

(d-1) “Director” means the Director of Consumer Protection and Business Licensing.

(e) “Impact area” means the area:

  (1) within the same election precinct as that in which a business is located; and

  (2) if a different precinct, within the election precinct of the block face opposing the block face in which a business is located.

(g) “Late-night operations license” or “license” means a license issued under this subtitle.
