## § 31-31 Immobilization – Tampering prohibited.

Balt., Md., Code art. 31, § 31-31 (2026)

(a) It shall be unlawful for any person:

  (1) to tamper with or remove or attempt to remove the immobilization device without authorization; or

  (2) to remove the warning notice.

(b) Any person violating any of the provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be subject to a fine of not more than $500 or to imprisonment for not more than 12 months, or to both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the court.
