It shall be unlawful for any person:to tamper with or remove or attempt to remove the immobilization device without authorization; or to remove the warning notice. Any person violating any of the provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be subject to a fine of not more than $500 or to imprisonment for not more than 12 months, or to both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the court.
