Adult and child day-care homes must meet all federal, state, and local requirements, including licensing, health, safety, and <cite data-path="|building-codes|II">building code</cite> requirements. In addition, each day-care home must meet the following conditions:open-space and recreational areas must be provided in accordance with state requirements; the day-care home must retain a residential character and may not adversely affect the residential character of the neighborhood; and the operation of the day-care home may not adversely impact surrounding properties.
