§ 2-101 Purpose of Code.LinkCopy Citation
This Code is intended to serve the following purposes:
(1)
to execute the powers and duties vested in the City of Baltimore by the State Land Use Article;
(2)
to promote and protect public health, welfare, and quality of life for current and future generations;
(3)
to ensure that the visions set forth in the City’s Comprehensive Master Plan are implemented by land use regulations consistent with the goals set forth;
(4)
to promote the principles and standards enacted in the Baltimore City Sustainability Plan;
(5)
to protect the physical environment and public natural resources for all residents;
(6)
to preserve and enhance the value of structures, communities, and neighborhoods;
(7)
to preserve, protect, and promote the City’s employment base; and
(8)
to provide oversight and planning to sustain the healthy growth of the City’s employment centers.
