## Sec. 10-262. Stormwater Management District

Prince George's County, Md., Code § 10-262 (2026)

(a) There is hereby created a Stormwater Management District which includes all the land within the boundaries of Prince George's County, Maryland, except for land within the City of Bowie.

(b) The Stormwater Management District shall be a special taxing district for the purpose of stormwater management. The County Council may establish by resolution one or more special taxing areas within the District.

(c) Within the Stormwater Management District, the County shall exercise all the rights, powers, and responsibilities for stormwater management, which is defined as the planning, designing, acquisition, construction, demolition, maintenance, and operation of facilities, practices and programs for the control and disposition of storm and surface waters, including floodproofing and flood control and navigation, so as to make available to residents and property owners of the Stormwater Management District an efficient and safe operating service.
