Sec. 4-349. Administration and Enforcement of Subtitle — GenerallyLinkCopy Citation
(a)
Administration and enforcement of this Subtitle shall be by the Department of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement, and the executive official in charge thereof shall be known as the Building Official.
(b)
The Building Official shall be designated by the Director of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement as a classified employee under Subtitle 16, Personnel, of this Code. The Building Official shall, with the approval of the Director of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement, designate such number of officers, technical assistants, inspectors, and other employees as shall be necessary for the administration of this Subtitle. The Building Official may designate an employee as his Deputy who shall exercise all the powers of the Building Official during the temporary absence or disability of the Building Official.
(c)
The Building Official shall have the power and the duty to enforce the provisions of this Subtitle and all fees provided in this Subtitle shall be paid to the order of Prince George's County. All permits and certificates shall be issued by the Building Official in the name of Prince George's County.
