In this subtitle, “license” means a license issued by the clerk to do the business of cleaning, dyeing, pressing, or laundering on–site at the location stated on the license.

A person must have a license whenever the person does the business of on–site cleaning, dyeing, pressing, or laundering, other than hand laundering, in the State.

An applicant for a license shall pay to the clerk the applicable license fee. In a county other than Baltimore City or Baltimore County, the license fee is: $15 for a business that employs not more than 10 individuals; $50 for a business that employs 11 to 20 individuals; and $100 for a business that employs more than 20 individuals. In Baltimore City or Baltimore County, the license fee is: $40 for a business that employs not more than 10 individuals; $125 for a business that employs 11 to 20 individuals; and $250 for a business that employs more than 20 individuals.
