The liability of a real estate investment trust extends to as much of the trust estate, including the whole, as necessary to discharge the liability. A shareholder or trustee of a real estate investment trust shall have the immunity from liability described under § 5-419 of the Courts and Judicial Proceedings Article.

Sections 2–113, 2–116 through 2–118, 2–201(c), 2–309(a) and (e), 2–313, 2–502(e), 2–503(b), 2–504(f), and 2–701 through 2–707 of this article and, except as otherwise provided in § 8–601 of this subtitle or in the declaration of trust, § 2–405.1 of this article shall apply to real estate investment trusts.

In an action against a real estate investment trust doing business in the State, process shall be served on any officer or resident agent of the real estate investment trust.
