There is a Regional Advanced Manufacturing Partnership of Maryland. The Partnership is a tax–exempt body politic and corporate. The Partnership is an independent unit that the Governor may not place in a principal department of State government. The purposes of the Partnership are to: foster the economic development of the region by: promoting collaboration among government, businesses, educational institutions, and entrepreneurs and innovators; and leveraging the established advanced manufacturing investments in the region, including the facilities at Aberdeen Proving Ground; and position the State as a leader in advanced manufacturing.
