A person may not knowingly make or cause a false statement or report to be made in an application or document submitted to the Authority. A person may not knowingly make or cause a false statement or report to be made to influence an action of the Authority: on an application for financial assistance under this subtitle; or affecting financial assistance sought or awarded under this subtitle. A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 5 years or a fine not exceeding $50,000 or both. A person who violates this section is subject to § 5-106(b) of the Courts Article.
