### Subtitle 4. Drinking Water

#### Section 9-409

The Secretary may authorize variances or exemptions from the rules and regulations issued in accordance with Sec. 9-407 of this subtitle, under conditions and in a manner necessary and desirable. However, the variances or exemptions are permitted only under conditions and in a manner that is not less stringent than the conditions under, and the manner in which, variances and exemptions may be granted under the federal Act.
