## Title 5. Maryland Public Ethics Law

### Subtitle 8. Local Government Provisions

#### Section 5-848

(a) In this part the following words have the meanings indicated.

(b) "Candidate" has the meaning stated in Sec. 1-101 of the Election Law Article, but only as it applies to a candidate seeking election as a local official.

(c) "Contribution" has the meaning stated in Sec. 1-101 of the Election Law Article.

(d) "Lobbyist" means a person required to register under Sec. 2-295 of the Prince George's County Code or Sec. 19A-21 of the Montgomery County Code.

(e) "Local official" means:

  (1) a member of the County Council of Prince George's County or the County Executive of Prince George's County; or

  (2) a member of the County Council of Montgomery County or the County Executive of Montgomery County.

(f) "Political committee" has the meanings stated in Sec. 1-101 of the Election Law Article.
