The Advisory Council consists of 7 members. The Secretary shall appoint the members from a list submitted to the Secretary by: Appropriate academic or research facilities having expertise in this area; The Chief Medical Examiner; and The Secretary of the Department of the Environment. The number of names on the list shall be 3 times the number of vacancies. Each member shall be an individual with demonstrated scientific and technical expertise in the field of toxicology, epidemiology, or occupational medicine. The term of a member is 5 years. The terms of members are staggered as required by the terms provided for members of the Council on July 1, 1988. At the end of a term, a member continues to serve until a successor is appointed and qualifies. A member who is appointed after a term has begun serves only for the rest of the term and until a successor is appointed and qualifies. The Secretary may remove a member for incompetence or misconduct.
