In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated. “Applicant” means an individual who applies for licensure to practice as a health care professional. “Board” means: The State Board of Examiners for Audiologists, Hearing Aid Dispensers, and Speech–Language Pathologists; The State Board of Dental Examiners; The State Board of Nursing; The State Board of Examiners in Optometry; The State Board of Pharmacy; The State Board of Physicians; The State Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners; The State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists; The State Board of Examiners of Psychologists; and The State Board of Social Work Examiners. “Health care professional” means: An individual licensed by the State Board of Examiners for Audiologists, Hearing Aid Dispensers, and Speech–Language Pathologists; A dentist licensed by the State Board of Dental Examiners; A registered nurse or licensed practical nurse licensed by the State Board of Nursing; An optometrist licensed by the State Board of Examiners in Optometry; A pharmacist licensed by the State Board of Pharmacy; A physician licensed by the State Board of Physicians; A podiatrist licensed by the State Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners; An individual licensed by the State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists; A psychologist licensed by the State Board of Examiners of Psychologists; and An associate social worker, a graduate social worker, a certified social worker, or a certified social worker–clinical licensed by the State Board of Social Work Examiners.
