<section article="ghs" article_name="Housing and Community Development" number="19-101" title_number="19" title_name="St. Mary's County" subtitle_number="1"> <text>Title 12 of this article applies to the Housing Authority of St. Mary’s County except where it is inconsistent with this title.</text> </section> <section article="ghs" article_name="Housing and Community Development" number="19-102" title_number="19" title_name="St. Mary's County" subtitle_number="1"> <level label="a"> <text>The Housing Authority of St. Mary’s County is a public body corporate and politic that:</text> <level label="1"> <text>exercises public and essential governmental functions; and</text> </level> <level label="2"> <text>has all the powers necessary or convenient to carry out the purposes of this Division II.</text> </level> </level> <level label="b"> <level label="1"> <text>The Housing Authority of St. Mary’s County consists of seven members appointed by the Commissioners for St. Mary’s County.</text> </level> <level label="2"> <text>The term of a member is 5 years.</text> </level> <level label="3"> <text>The terms of the members are staggered as required by the terms provided for members of the Commissioners of the Housing Authority of St. Mary’s County on October 1, 2006.</text> </level> <level label="4"> <text>A member who is appointed after a term has begun serves only for the rest of the term and until a successor is appointed and qualifies.</text> </level> </level> </section>
