A county may establish, maintain, and control hospitals, homeless shelters, and other similar institutions in the county. A county may establish and maintain courthouses. A county may: establish and maintain local correctional or detention facilities and juvenile facilities; regulate all individuals confined in the facilities; and make appropriate provisions for females and juveniles.
