There is a Maryland Corps Program in the State administered and managed by the Department. The Program has two pathways: the Young Adult Service Year Option Pathway; and the Maryland Service Year Option Pathway. The Program is subject to Title 14, Subtitle 3 of the State Finance and Procurement Article. The purpose of the Program is to: provide meaningful service opportunities to corps participants that will address the social needs of the community; equip corps participants with the skills that will enable them to successfully make the transition from high school to an institution of higher education or to the workforce; and provide Program completion awards to corps participants who have completed the Program. The Program is subject to review under § 2–1220 of this article.
