The Office shall: encourage volunteering throughout the State by individuals, businesses, and nonprofit organizations; promote the use of volunteers in State and local government; identify governmental agencies where private sector involvement in volunteer programs can be of assistance and provide technical assistance in developing such programs; and provide information services to volunteer programs and government units throughout the State.
