In this title, “termination of service” includes: retirement at the age required by Article IV, § 3 of the Maryland Constitution; voluntary retirement; resignation because of disability; retirement by order of the Supreme Court of Maryland; resignation; nonelection or nonconfirmation when election or confirmation is required; expiration of term without reappointment; or abolition of the member’s office.

This title applies only to the Judges’ Retirement System.

This title does not impair or reduce any benefit that a former member or retiree or a spouse of a member, former member, or retiree has been or would be entitled to receive under any public general law.
