If the Governor concurs with a recommendation for formal recognition by the Commission, the Governor shall propose an executive order to recognize formally the Maryland Indian status of the petitioning group. If the Governor does not concur with a recommendation of the Commission, the Governor shall notify the Commission of the reasons and the Commission shall promptly notify the petitioning group and all persons requesting notice. The Governor shall present the proposed executive order to the Joint Committee on Administrative, Executive, and Legislative Review for the proposed executive order's review. The proposed executive order shall take effect 30 days after submission to the Committee, unless the Governor earlier withdraws the proposed order. The Commission shall promptly notify appropriate governmental agencies and national and state Native American organizations of the executive order.
