Upon accepting a report of suspected child abuse or neglect, the local department shall enter identifying information into a centralized confidential database and, as appropriate, add to or correct information already entered. The local department shall expunge identifying information from the centralized confidential database when it expunges the record related to that report. The local department may only permanently identify an individual as responsible for alleged child abuse or neglect in the centralized confidential database if the individual was found responsible for indicated child abuse or neglect in a final determination.
