A person may be registered as an apprentice if the person: Is at least 16 years old; Has secured a sponsoring shop in which to apprentice; Has been approved by the Board; and Prior to being registered as an apprentice, has participated in an orientation program administered by the Board. For good cause, the Board may issue a new barber apprentice registration to an individual previously registered as a barber apprentice if: A minimum of 6 months has passed since the individual was last registered as a barber apprentice; and The individual surrenders the number of hours earned under any other barber apprentice registration.
