Subject to the provisions of this chapter, the Board may impose sanctions for violations of the Maryland Nurse Practice Act and its regulations according to the guidelines set forth in the following categories: Abuse — Physical and Psychological. Criminal History. Disciplined by Another Licensing, Military, or Disciplinary Authority. Diversion of Controlled Substances or Prescription Drugs or Manufacture, Sale, or Distribution of any Substance for an Illegal or Illegitimate Purpose. Noncompliance with Board Orders. Practice Inconsistent with Generally Accepted Standards of Care. Sexual Misconduct. Substance Abuse. Unauthorized Practice. Unprofessional Conduct. Physical or Mental Incompetence. Fraud, Deceit, or Misrepresentation. Expulsion from Safe Practice Program.
