In evaluating the standard of care for the practice of a licensed respiratory care practitioner, the Board shall utilize the AARC’s National Clinical Practice Guidelines. If a particular practice issue has not yet been addressed in the AARC guidelines, the Board may consult with the Maryland/District of Columbia Society for Respiratory Care or any licensed respiratory care practitioner to determine whether a respiratory care practitioner being investigated by the Board is practicing within the acceptable standard of care.
