An individual shall be licensed by the Board in accordance with Health Occupations Article, Title 19, Annotated Code of Maryland, and this chapter, before that individual may be identified as a social worker and practice social work. The title “social worker” shall be used only by a licensed social worker. Except as otherwise provided in this chapter or provided in Health Occupations Article, §19-301(b), Annotated Code of Maryland, an individual licensed as a social worker in another state may not practice social work in this State unless licensed by the Board.
