Before attending a program, a social worker with an active license requesting an exception from certain requirements of this chapter shall provide: Official documentation that confirms circumstances beyond the control of the social worker because of: A functional impairment or prolonged illness that has been diagnosed by a health care practitioner; Mandatory military service or deployment; A prolonged absence from the United States; An officially declared State of Emergency or disaster; or Financial hardship; Documentation that describes the continuing education programs selected by the social worker considered equivalent to continuing education activities described in this chapter; and An acceptable procedure for documenting the continuing education units. The Board shall audit an actively licensed social worker who has been granted an exception from the continuing education requirements.
