The 28-hour Board-approved local anesthesia course of instruction outlined in Regulation .08A and B of this chapter shall include but not be limited to the following: 20 hours of didactic training, including at least the following: The psychology of pain management; A review of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology of anesthetic agents; Emergency precautions and management; Patient management; and Instruction on the safe and effective administration of local anesthesia; and 8 hours of clinical training, including the direct observation of the performance of procedures.
