A director of a forensic laboratory shall: Hold an earned master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited institution in: Forensic science; A natural science such as chemistry, physics, or biology; or A subspecialty of a natural science such as organic chemistry, biochemistry, or molecular biology; and Have at least: 3 years of documented forensic laboratory experience; and 2 years of managerial or supervisory experience.
