An applicant for initial licensure as a certified midwife shall: Be of good moral character; Submit to a criminal history records check in accordance with Health Occupations Article, §8-303, Annotated Code of Maryland; Hold a current, valid national certification as a certified midwife from the AMCB; Have graduated from a graduate-level midwifery education program accredited by the ACME; and Have passed the AMCB certification examination.
