The Transportation Article, §22-601, Annotated Code of Maryland, authorizes the Administrator, by regulation, to adopt maximum sound level limits for motor vehicles operated on the highways of the State. The Transportation Article, §22-603, Annotated Code of Maryland, authorizes the Administrator and the Maryland State Police to jointly promulgate regulations for the administration and enforcement of the maximum sound level limits for motor vehicles operated on the public highways of the State. The Transportation Article, §22-604, Annotated Code of Maryland, authorizes the Administrator to adopt regulations establishing maximum sound level limits for new motor vehicles sold, offered for sale, distributed, or leased in the State. The Transportation Article, §22-607, Annotated Code of Maryland, authorizes the Administrator to adopt regulations for the administration and enforcement of the limits established under Transportation Article, §22-605, Annotated Code of Maryland. The Transportation Article, §22-608, Annotated Code of Maryland, authorizes the Administrator to adopt regulations for the certification of new vehicles to be sold, offered for sale, distributed, or leased in the State. The Transportation Article, §22-610, Annotated Code of Maryland, authorizes the Administrator to adopt regulations for certification of exhaust mufflers, intake mufflers, and other noise abatement devices sold in this State.
