In this chapter, the following terms have the meanings indicated. Terms Defined. “Annual family income” means the combined annual adjusted gross income, as reported for federal tax purposes, of all members of the applicant's household. “Applicant” means the provider who has applied to the Office to receive an award through the Fund. “Award” means the grant amount awarded through the Fund to an approved applicant. “Department” means the State Department of Education. “Fund” means the Family Child Care Provider Grant Fund. “Grantee” means the person who has received an award through the Fund. “Office” means the Office of Licensing in the Office of Child Care of the Department. “Provider” means a registered family child care provider who cares for not more than eight children under a current certificate of registration issued under COMAR 13A.15.
