The requirements in this chapter apply to all out-of-State institutions, including colleges and universities, and separately incorporated graduate institutions or centers that require or seek a certificate of approval to operate in Maryland, or continue to operate in Maryland, and grant formal awards within the State. The requirements in this chapter also apply to existing out-of-State institutions that are seeking approval to offer a new degree level in Maryland. The approval granted to an out-of-State institution to operate in Maryland and award degrees applies only to the formal awards, instructional programs, and locations designated in the certificate of approval. Programs to be reviewed under this authority include: New certificates or degree levels; and Program suspensions or discontinuances. Application of Chapter to Out-of-State SARA Institutions. Regulations .04-1—.22 of this chapter do not apply to out-of-State SARA institutions that do not operate in Maryland. The requirements of this chapter apply to out-of-State SARA institutions that operate in Maryland.
