As required by Education Article, §5-310, Annotated Code of Maryland, the Facilities Educational Sufficiency Standards established in this chapter shall be used to complete assessments of existing school facilities Statewide. The chapter is to be used for assessment purposes only and are not requirements for school facility design or construction. This chapter may not supersede or obviate compliance with applicable building and fire codes or any other code, regulation, law, or standard that has been adopted by State agencies.
