A door latch and door handle shall be inspected for: Operation; Ability to work freely and cleared of obstruction; and Ability to hold the door tightly closed. Electric push button or ring and cable means of opening the door are acceptable provided they are readily accessible. Do not certify if: The door handles are missing; The latches are inoperative; The door has broken hinges; The doors are wired or held closed by any means not equivalent to the original design.
